Cargo volume handled by Philippine domestic air freight forwarders grew 10% in 2018 to 88.802 million kilograms (kg) from the 80.73 million kg recorded in 2017, data from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) showed.
Direct shipments, which accounted for 50.4% of the total 2018 volume, rose 11.6% to 44.767 million kg from 40.097 million kg in 2017.
Consolidations, which had a share of 49.4% of the total, went up 8.2% to 43.894 million kg from 40.571 million kg. Breakbulking, meanwhile, grew the most to reach 140,401.97 kg, or 125.6% more last year than the 62,232.6 kg handled in 2017.
AP Cargo Logistics Network Corp. dethroned LBC Express, Inc. as the top air freight forwarder in terms of volumes on CAB’s latest list of top 30 domestic forwarders after AP Cargo handled 19.789 million kg, or 22.3% of the total, last year.
LBC Express, which had held the top position since 2006, was second with 15.237 million kg, or a 17.16% share.
JRS Business Corp., which airlifted 8.376 million kg for a 9.43% share, accelerated one place to third after beating Airfreight 2100, Inc., which dropped one place to fourth with 7.496 million kg or an 8.44% share.
Cargo Padala Express Forwarding Services, Corp. remained in fifth place with 5.689 million kg or 6.41% share.
F2 Logistics Philippines, Inc. jumped four places to sixth, handling 2.944 million kg or 3.32%, followed by 2GO Express, Inc., which rose one rank to seventh with 2.204 million kg or 2.48% share.
Libcap Super Express Corp. declined one place to eighth with 2.133 million kg, while Nonpareil International Freight & Cargo Services, Inc. climbed two places to ninth with 1.912 million kg.
Wide Wide World Express, Inc., formerly in sixth, dropped to 10th in the latest ranking with 1.835 million kg.
Ranking 11th to 20th places on CAB’s list last year were Fastcargo Logistics Corp. (1.797 million kg); 3PL Service Provider Philippines, Inc. (1.783 million kg); Kim Gold Cargo Logistics Corp. (1.746 million kg); AAI Worldwide Logistics, Inc. (1.711 million kg); AAI Logistics Cargo Express, Inc. (1.639 million kg); We Help You Forwarders, Inc. (1.501 million kg); ASP Airspeed Philippines, Inc. (1.361 million kg); Highlight Express Philippines Corp. (910,256 kg); Ximex Delivery Express (907,110.5 kg); and Worklink Services, Inc. (905,663.25 kg).
Rounding off the top 21st to 30th were EPR Cargo Services (899,006 kg); Argo International Forwarders, Inc. (889,373.68 kg); Pambato Cargo Forwarders, Inc. (649,253.55 kg); Trans-global Consolidators, Inc. (602,451.38 kg); Airspeed International Philippines Corp. (349,815.5 kg); JV Freight Consolidators, Inc.
