XVC Logistics’ Pierre Carlo Curay has been named president-elect of Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines (SCMAP) for 2020, and will assume the presidency from 2021 to 2022.

Current SCMAP president Christine Pardiñas, who represents Rustan Supercenters, Inc., will continue in her role until the end of 2020, with Curay to succeed her the following year.

Curay, who has been a director at SCMAP since 2017, is also co-founder of InsightSCS, a supply chain technology firm.

LF Logistics’ Dina Pilapil will continue to act as SCMAP’s secretary in 2020. PLDT’s Jess Sarmiento has been named the organization’s treasurer, while Zalora’s Jannis Dargel has been named auditor.

Other directors for 2020 include Alipio Bernardo IV of Personal Collection, Arnel Gamboa of National Book Store, Dennis Llovido of Nestlé, Nestor Felicio of Unilab, and Renato Casas of JG Summit Petrochemical.

The directors were selected through an online vote among SCMAP members that was held for two weeks in November. The new board was announced during SCMAP’s 2019 Christmas fellowship held last December 5 at the Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila.

To ensure better continuity and transition between the successive boards, SCMAP amended its by-laws in 2016, extending the one-year term of the president to two years. It also introduced the position of president-elect, who is chosen during the current president’s second year in office and who is set to become the new president in the next two years.

The board will be inducted during SCMAP’s annual Supply Chain Outlook, scheduled for February 7, 2020.
