The first chapter of the Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association, Inc.’s (PMTLAI) in Cebu has formally inducted its officials, with Elaine Nolasco of Yusen Logistics Philippines, Inc. as chapter president.

PMTLAI was established in 2017, merging the Philippine International Seafreight Forwarders Association and Aircargo Forwarders of the Philippines, Inc. for a “a unified and holistic representation of the Philippine freight forwarding and logistics industry.”

Among elected interim officials formally inducted on September 13 in Cebu City were Loyd Omandam of Airspeed as vice president for air, Rose Garcia of Container Freight Services as vice president for sea, and Jessie Cayanong of Prestige Warehousing and Logistics as vice president for land.

Also elected were Karl de Pio of Global Carrier Philippines, Inc. as corporate secretary; Jane Torralba of Pac-Atlantic 2100, Inc. as treasurer; Alma Pantoja of Nippon Express Philippines, Inc. as assistant treasurer; Clarito Fruelda of Airland and Sea as auditor; and Edwin Alvarez of Mercury Freight as press relations officer.

Selected as committee chairs and co-chairs were the following: membership chair and co-chair were Yvette Espinosa of Meister Transport and Cecel Camacho of Pacific Concord, respectively; ethics/standard chair Jun Pingkian of Royal Cargo; training/education chair Lemuel Tabada of Transmodal and co-chair Evan Tieng of Agility Logistics; social responsibility chair Loy Badilla of Airlift Asia International; sports and fellowship chair Jovany Federiso of Ultimate Freight; and ways and means chair Michael Igot of Orient Freight.

The officers will serve until January 2020.

David Tieng of Agility and Joel Tahil of Yusen Logistics will serve as consultants of the group.

After Cebu, PMTLAI is looking to develop other satellite association branches in key areas where member companies operate.
