The Philippine government has created an online portal to enable the public to monitor and track details and developments in the country’s big-ticket infrastructure projects.

The Build Build Build Portal (www.build.gov.ph) lists high-impact projects that are envisioned to increase the productive capacity of the economy, create jobs, increase incomes, and strengthen the investment climate, leading to sustained inclusive growth in the country.

The portal was launched on April 18 at the Dutertenomics Forum when the government’s infrastructure program was showcased along with other priorities under the 10-point socioeconomic agenda.

At the launch, Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the portal ensures all projects are “corruption-free”.

The portal is jointly administered and managed by the National Economic and Development Authority, Department of Transportation, Department of Public Works and Highways, and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

BCDA president and chief executive officer Vivencio Dizon earlier said that “transparency is critical” to the implementation of all projects, allowing the public to hold government officials accountable for aberrations such as project delays.

Infrastructure is among the top priorities of the current administration, with public spending targeted to reach P8 trillion to P9 trillion from 2017 to 2022 as part of its envisioned Golden Age of Infrastructure for the country.

The administration’s 10-point socioeconomic agenda also includes acceleration of infrastructure and the development of industries, both seen to yield robust growth across the archipelago, create jobs, and uplift the lives of Filipinos.

Currently, the portal lists 36 infrastructure projects, with information on their status, implementing agencies, start date, and budget. Some are already being implemented, while others are being developed, or are undergoing feasibility studies, project design, or procurement.

Some of the projects featured on the portal are the North Luzon Expressway-South Luzon Expressway connector road, NAIA Expressway Phase 2, Central RORO Spine Alignment Project, Mega Manila Subway, Mindanao Railway, Cebu Bus Rapid Transit, Subic-Clark Cargo Railway, and BGC to NAIA Bus Rapid Transit System.

The portal also features video presentations of several ongoing projects and highlights the milestones of certain projects that were already or almost completed.
