STORAGE rates in customs bonded warehouses within the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Complex located in the Philippine capital Manila have gone up effective May 11.
Under Customs Administrative Order 1-2013, the Bureau of Customs cited “present economic conditions” and the need to standardize rates among various warehouse operators as the reasons for the adjusted rates firms will have to pay in order to use the warehouses.
The higher rates apply to customs bonded warehouses 31, 55, 83, 124, 125, 128, 158 and 182 operated by Philippine Skylanders Inc., Philippine Airlines, People’s Aircargo and Warehousing Co. Inc., Delbros Inc., Cargohaus, Inc., DHL Express Philippines Inc., Miascor Cargo Logistics and TMW Worldwide Express, all located inside the NAIA Complex.
The storage rate for general cargo rose to P2.64 per kilogram (kg) per day from P1.76. The minimum charge is now P151.90 per day from P101.27.
Storage rates for “special cargo” increased to P302.63 per day from P201.75, and rates for documents and diplomatic pouches to P101.25 per day from P67.50.
Rates for baggage and personal effects went up to P2.64 per kg per day from P1.76, while rates for perishables, valuable cargo, dangerous drugs and restricted articles, live animals, foods, plants and human remains jumped to P5.30 per kg per day from P3.53.
The service charge for shipments recorded in the airway bill weighing less than 100 kg rose to P1.04 per kg per day, while that on 100 kg or more to P1.53 per kg per day from P1.02 per kg per day.
