Heavylift and machinery mover The Rigging Co., Ltd. (TRCL) has just completed providing aerial lifting services for the Sumag River Diversion Project of two Metro Manila water concessionaires.
TRCL, in an email to PortCalls, said it was tapped by general project contractor Cavite Ideal International Construction and Development Corp., to conduct hook-to-hook aerial and ground assistance.
The company also supervised cabling of all heavy equipment, containerized cargoes, construction materials, and fuel and food supplies.
TRCL lifted equipment and construction supplies from two points using an air crane chopper to the Sumag site at an average of 20 lifts per day on 6.5-ton maximum payload per lift. Airlifting was completed in 23 days from May 6 to May 28.
As part of its heavylift services, TRCL offers aerial lifting services for project cargoes to locations not accessible by land transport, such as areas within the water or the sea. The Sumag diversion project is TRCL’s first airlifting project this year.
The Sumag diversion, a project of water firms Manila Water and Maynilad Water Services, involves the construction of a 600-meter tunnel to be connected to the Macaua-Umiray tunnel to divert water from the Sumag River in General Nakar, Quezon Province to the Umiray-Angat Transbasin Tunnel in Angat, Bulacan.
The additional water supply to Angat will help address increasing water needs of residents in Metro Manila and nearby areas.
TCRL said it sees more projects in 2015 following a slight rise in projects last year.
Boding well for TRCL is the expected continued growth of the semiconductor industry; the power industry, which could provide wind turbine, hydro, and other alternative energy projects; and the construction sector.
Opportunities are also coming up in other industries as a result of ASEAN integration to be formally launched at the end of the year, the heavylift specialist said.
For now, the company is waiting for submitted offers for projects involving power, semiconductor, factory machine rigging, and construction works, either needing its direct involvement or coursed through logistics companies.
