The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is implementing a “no sail zone” policy in several Manila areas during the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Meetings, chaired by the Philippines, on April 26 to 29, 2017.

In Notice to Mariners No. 62-2017, PCG said it is enforcing the policy on waters off the shoreline of Mall of Asia (MOA) Complex to Manila South Harbor.

In a separate advisory, PCG Commodore Rolando Legaspi said these include waters off MOA, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) complex, United States Embassy, Manila Yacht Club, and nearby areas in the Manila Bay.

PCG also advised all ships/watercrafts transiting the vicinity of the subject areas to take note of the information and take necessary precautionary measures at all times.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), for its part, is implementing a traffic rerouting scheme along Sen. W. Diokno Boulevard, Jalandoni St., V. Sotto St., Bukaneg St., and A. Dela Rama St., in Pasay City.

Occasional traffic disruption is expected along Arnaiz Avenue and Makati Avenue in Makati City. These roads will be considered ASEAN lanes, including Parkway Drive in Pasay.

The Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex will be an “ASEAN delegates only” zone during the period.

The MMDA will also implement a stop-and-go scheme during the passage of vehicles of participants on certain roads, such as Roxas Boulevard.

In addition, there is a re-routing scheme for trucks with gross capacity weight of 4,500 kg and above coming from or bound to Roxas Boulevard. This applies to trucks registered or not with the Terminal Appointment Booking System.
