Shanghai-based Sinotrans Container Lines is introducing a new service to accommodate its expanding clientele in China, Japan and the Philippines, according to the line’s exclusive Philippine general agent, Uni-ship Inc.
The new CJP (China-Japan-Philippines) service will go online starting June 3, 2012. Southbound ports of call are Tokyo, Yokohama, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou and Manila while northbound ports of call are Manila, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and Yokohama.
Sinotrans will deploy two of its vessels on the service, the Sinotrans Hong Kong and Isara Bhum. Service partner Yang Ming Lines will deploy one, the Glory Ocean. Each of the vessels has a capacity of 1,000 twenty-foot equivalent units with service speed of 18 knots.
Glory Ocean will commence its southbound service on June 3 and its northbound service the following day while Sinotrans Hong Kong will start its southbound service on June 10 and northbound run on June 11.
Isara Bhum’s southbound service will commence on June 17 and northbound service on June 18.
For the service’s first year of operations, Uni-ship expects volume to be around 700 TEUs per vessel call for both north and southbound lanes.
