Hong Kong’s T.S. Lines has partnered with China’s Cosco Container Lines in launching a China-Southeast Asia (CSE) service from February 18 in expectation of rising market demand.
The CSE service will deploy four 3,500-TEU vessels and will have a port rotation as follows: Shanghai, Qingdao, Ningbo, Guangzhou-Nansha, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Shekou, Jakarta, Port Klang, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai.
T.S. Lines is also joining Cosco in a slot swap on the North China-Manila service. The service deploys three 1,800-TEU vessels which rotate through Dalian, Tianjin, Xinggang, Yingkou, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Manila, Xiamen and back to Dalian.
“T.S. Lines is committed to improving services for the southeast Asian market to meet strong demand, boosted by the ASEAN’s CAFTA trades,” said a February 14 statement from the company. “We will actively go on service cooperation with Cosco to expand the Asian market.”
T.S. Lines has also increased sailings on a three-ship China-Japan service, adding a new Shanghai-Nagoya express loop based on services such as the Shanghai-Kanto and Qingdao-Kanto strings. T.S. Lines will also share slots on Dalian-based Goto Shipping’s Qingdao-Kanto and Qingdao-Kansai services, adding strength to the China-Japan network.
To develop the potential market for the Haiphong service, T.S. Lines launched a Hong Kong-Haiphong service (HPH2) on February 14, increasing sailings between the two ports to twice a week.
In addition, the carrier consolidated its Taiwan-Hong Kong service and resumed the THK service using a 1,500-TEU vessel on February 11.
“As T.S. Lines holds a more optimistic outlook for the Korea-Taiwan and Hong Kong markets,” it plans to add a KTH service from February 29, the box ship said. The KTH service will rotate through Incheon, Ulsan, Busan, Keelung, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Shekou, Xiamen, and back to Incheon.
