The Tan Cang-Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) in Vietnam said it set a new productivity record of 190 moves per hour when it served the M/V MOL Progress on February 15, 2012.
TCIT said the record is the result of its continuous effort to raise operational efficiency.
In early October 2011, the terminal surpassed the old productivity record of 120 moves per hour with 126 moves per hour, and then broke that with 134 moves per hour in November.
In 2012, the terminal posted 145 moves per hour in January, then beat that figure with 184 moves per hour on February 2, before smashing the number with a record-high 190 moves every hour on February 15.
TCIT said it was booking a monthly productivity average of about 100 moves per hour from September 2011 until it upped the ante with 105 moves per hour from February 2012.
The terminal said it welcomed more than 200 vessels and handled some 280,000 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) last year. Currently, it serves more than 400 direct shippers and consignees from the industrial zones of southeast Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
