E-logistics sister companies Transporeon and Ticontract have established a local presence in Asia with a new office in Singapore that opened in November this year.

The joint headquarters of the two subsidiaries of Europe-based Transporeon Group followed the group’s entry into the U.S. market in October 2011 when it set up an office in Philadelphia.

“Expansion into the Asian and US markets signals the next phase of extending the group’s network outside of Europe,” an official Transporeon Group statement said.

“Transport networks are now planned and managed from many places throughout the world. Our global presence puts us in a better position to act as a reliable partner to our customers and help them expand into markets around the world,” said Roland Hötzl, managing director of Ticontract.

Mario Sander has been hired as the managing director of Transporean Group Asia-Pacific. Working in Asia since 2005, he has over 20 years of experience in international supply chain management, including as an Asia-Pacific board member and senior vice president of business development at DHL.

“As Asia’s leading center of trade and logistics, Singapore is the perfect place in which to pursue this expansion,” he said.
