United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) is stretching its coverage of Asia with two new weekly feeder services covering Japan, Central and South China, Thailand, and Vietnam.
To be launched end of November, the direct services aim to add Ningbo, China, and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, to UASC’s intra-Asia coverage, and provide direct coverage from Japan to Central and South China and Thailand.
Under the new services, the shipping line operator said it will continue to operate one vessel on the IAC1 and will swap space with China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) on the IAC2 and IAC3.
IAC1 is a joint operation between CSCL and UASC, with a combined weekly capacity of 2,100 TEUs (20-foot-equivalent units). Its maiden sailing will begin from Shanghai, China, on November 25 with the following port rotation: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Laem Chabang, Ho Chi Minh, Nansha, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
IAC2 is operated by Orient Overseas Container Line, where UASC will have a slot exchange with CSCL. The service starts from Osaka, Japan, on November 26 with the following port rotation: Osaka, Kobe, Tokyo, Yokohama, Hong Kong, Laem Chabang, Shekou, Hong Kong, Xiamen, and back to Osaka.
IAC3 is operated by CSCL, where UASC will have a slot exchange. The service will start from Tokyo, Japan, on November 29 with the following port rotation: Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Ningbo, Shanghai.
