As OIC, Yusingco carries the authority to assume the powers, duties, and responsibilities of the director general of PEZA until such time that a new head is appointed by the country’s President, Lopez said. PEZA is an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry.

Last month, De Lima announced her retirement as head of the country’s premier investment promotion agency after 21 years of service.
