Israel-based Zim Integrated Shipping Services announced it will add the port of Norfolk in Virginia, U.S.A., to its Zim Container Service Pacific (ZCP) route starting mid-June.
The new rotation will be as follows: Savannah, Norfolk, New York, Halifax, Kingston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Vostochny, Ningbo, Shanghai, Pusan, Balboa, Kingston, and Savannah.
The Shanghai-Norfolk transit time for this service is 30 days. The first vessel to call Norfolk will be the ZIM Mediterranean.
On the other hand, Japan-based Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) is introducing a new weekly Asia‐Mexico Express (AME) service in late June, using a network operated by Hapag-Lloyd.
The AME service’s port schedule is as follows: Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Yokohama, Ensenada, Manzanillo, Lazaro Cardenas, Ensenada, Yokohama, and Ningbo.
The round trip will take 49 days, with seven vessels deployed on the service. The maiden voyage will be the Tamina, which will depart from Ningbo on June 24.
