German ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd said it will implement rate hikes for all dry, flat rack and open-top containers from East Asia to all U.S. destinations effective August 7, 2012.
From East Asia to the U.S. West Coast, the general rate increases (GRIs) are as follows:
* US$420 per 20-foot standard container
* $525 per 40-foot standard container
* $590 per 40-foot high cube container
* $665 per 45-foot container
Rate hikes to the U.S. East Coast and U.S. IPI and RIPI are:
* $600 per 20-foot standard container
* $750 per 40-foot standard container
* $845 per 40-foot high cube container
* $950 per 45-foot container
East Asia is comprised of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, and the Russian Pacific Coast provinces.
