CARGO carrier Lorenzo Shipping Corp (LSC) is purchasing a container ship to replace the vessel it sold in September last year. Delivery is expected within the next four weeks.
Bought from Oak 1 Shipping, Inc of the Marshall Islands, the vessel has a capacity of 790 TEUs, 150 reefer plugs and is classed by the American Bureau of Shipping. It has a 2×40-ton gear and sails at a maximum speed of 17 knots.
A combination of internally-generated funds and a credit facility will be used to purchase the vessel.
Last September, LSC sold the 1972-built 400-TEU MV Lorcon Luzon.
