A year after introducing Daily Maersk, Danish shipping line Maersk Line said today it will extend the daily service to six more routes.
From 21 November 2012, Maersk Line, the world’s leading container shipper, is extending Daily Maersk to six additional routes: from Jakarta (Indonesia) or Laem Chabang (Thailand) to Bremerhaven (Germany), Rotterdam (The Netherlands) or Felixstowe (UK).
Bookings for this service will begin October 8, 2012, the company, a subsidiary of Danish oil and shipping giant A.P. Moller-Maersk, said in an official statement.
With gate-in any day of the week and two weekly cut-offs, Maersk Line promises to transport goods on these routes in 31 days.
“The clock starts at cut-off and stops when goods are available at the final container yard. The promise is absolute, backed with the same monetary guarantees offered on Daily Maersk,” the statement said.
“When we launched Daily Maersk, we were trying to implement a new service standard that our customers could expect to get from us. We wondered at times during the development if we’d bitten off more than we could chew,” said Vincent Clerc, Maersk Line’s chief trade and marketing officer.
“Fortunately our hard work seems to have paid off, a year on we are achieving 98% reliability and feedback from customers is positive. So, we’ve taken everything we’ve learnt from Daily Maersk and we’ve decided to extend the Daily Maersk promise to our customers on these additional routes,” he added.
