The CKYH Alliance announced the suspension of seven Asia-Mediterranean sailings for the winter, to take effect from November 2012 to the middle of January 2013.
The alliance, which consists of Cosco Container Lines, “K” Line, Yang Ming, and Hanjin Shipping, usually has 33 sailings for this trade.
“K” Line in a press statement said the consortium will implement the winter service adjustment on the Asia-Mediterranean loop “to cope with the seasonal market demand.”
But the Japan-based box ship said the four carriers will continue providing weekly service covering the majority ports connecting the Far East and the Mediterranean.
