South Korea’s largest shipping line, Hanjin Shipping, is introducing new services to its Indonesia network to take advantage of the rising demand in the rapidly developing Southeast Asian country.
To be launched on April 3 is NCI (New China-Indonesia) service, a joint operation by Hanjin Shipping with T.S. Lines and KMTC. It will run a weekly service using four 2,500-TEU-class ships deployed by all three partners.
Hanjin Shipping is also adding the JIS (Japan-Indonesia Service) and JIE (Japan Indonesia Express) to its network by end-March through a space swap arrangement with Japanese carriers NYK and “K” Line, joint operators of both services.
The existing JIS will go through some changes in port coverage and rotation from March 27, while the JIE will be a new service to be introduced on March 28, said a Hanjin Shipping statement.
Both services will be deploying 2,500- to 2,900-TEU-class ships.
The NCI will have a port rotation of Qingdao, Incheon, Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Jakarta, Shekou, Hong Kong, and Qingdao.
The JIS will call at the ports of Tokyo, Yokohama, Shimizu, Yokkaichi, Nagoya, Kobe, Manila, Singapore, Port Kelang, Jakarta, Singapore, Hong Kong, and back to Tokyo.
The port rotation for the JIE is Osaka, Nagoya, Shimizu, Tokyo, Yokohama, Singapore, Jakarta, Singapore, Manila, and Osaka.
