DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight unit of Deutsche Post DHL, has released an improved version of its web-based customer platform DHL Interactive (DHLi), featuring increased information transparency and a new design layout for easier use.

DHLi is globally available and can be accessed via every Internet-enabled device, the company said.

“In today’s logistics world, sending shipments from multiple locations via different transport modes is a given,” said Michael Young, executive vice president of marketing and sales, DHL Global Forwarding.

“The enhanced DHL Interactive ensures customers real-time visibility of their air shipments and allows them to handle transport reports and other enquiries with ease,” he added.

DHLi offers customers a range of services for handling their consignments. Users can book shipments at the DHL website and also request documents such as certificates of origin, consular invoices, and letters of credit. Furthermore, customers can use booking templates, request instant house bill numbers, and create a commercial invoice and pack list via the DHLi booking function.

The track and trace module also provides real-time visibility of air shipments with detailed information on goods and their shipping status. Additionally, customers can request alerts for chosen shipment stages such as the “POD” (Point Of Delivery), and the tool’s report function allows customers to compile comprehensive information on up to one year of shipment history.

Third-party members can be invited by access control, while the document repository function enables customers to easily share documents. The web-based platform is available in 14 languages, requires no IT setup, and can be accessed even away from the desk.
