Philippine Airlines (PAL) is now serving the Manila-Nanning, China route twice weekly, increasing its number of services to the East Asian country.

The brand-new flight departs Manila at 5:50 p.m. twice a week and arrives at Nanning at 9 p.m. on the same day. The return flight leaves Nanning at 10 p.m. and touches down in Manila at 12:55 a.m. the following day. PAL is utilizing its 156-seater dual-class Airbus A320 for the service.

The airline earlier said it is ramping up its operations to China by increasing flight frequency on existing routes and opening up new destinations in the mainland, in support of the national campaign targeting two million annual Chinese tourist arrivals in the Philippines.

PAL said its multiple flights from various Chinese cities were a major factor in the huge 43.33% increase in the Philippines’ tourist arrivals from mainland China, a final total of 968,447 visitors for 2017.

The four-star carrier’s other routes to China are Manila to Beijing, Guangzhou (Canton), Hong Kong, Macau, Quanzhou (Jinjiang), Shanghai, and Xiamen.

The airline said more regional flights are in the pipeline within the year, including the Manila-Chitose, Japan, and Puerto Princesa-Peking, China services.
