AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of conglomerate Ayala Corporation and German firm Brillant 1257 GmbH & Co. Vierte Verwaltungs Kg., are establishing a holding company to venture into the courier and freight forwarding industry.

In a regulatory disclosure, Ayala said AC Infrastructure, together with Brillant, has formed a holding company to serve as its investment vehicle for future initiatives relating to courier and freight forwarding services.

AC Infrastructure holds 60% equity interest in the new holding company, while Brillant holds the rest. Brillant, a corporation duly organized under the laws of Germany, is an affiliate of e-commerce platform Zalora.

Ayala last year acquired a 49% stake in Zalora Philippines through a deal with BF Jade E-Service Philippines, which owns the local arm of the online fashion retailer. Zalora is the country’s largest online fashion store, offering more than 120,000 products across more than 1,000 brands in accessories, beauty, clothing, shoes, and sports.

Moreover, Ayala Land Inc., the real estate arm of the Ayala group, has a 63.9% stake in industrial leasing company Prime Orion Philippines, Inc., which is being repositioned to be a leading real estate logistics and industrial estate developer and operator in the Philippines.
