Hapag-Lloyd announced the revision of the bunker fuel factor (BFF) for containers on the eastbound Asia-U.S. and Canada trade lane effective July 1.
In an official release, the German ocean carrier said the BFF for all dry, reefer, flat-rack and open-top containers from Asia, including the Indian Subcontinent, to all U.S. and Canada destinations will be revised as follows:
* From the West Coast port of discharge, the BFF will be cut down to US$422 from $429 per 20-foot standard container, to $527 from $536 per 40-foot standard container, to $593 from $603 per 40-foot high-cube container, and to $667 from $679 per 45-foot container.
* From the East Coast port of discharge: the new BFF will be $784 from $812 per 20-foot standard container, $980 from $1,015 per 40-foot standard container, $1,103 from $1,142 per 40-foot high-cube container, and $1,240 from $1,285 per 45-foot container
Additionally, the liner operator is revising the seal charge for all export shipments from Indonesia to $4 per seal from July 1.
