Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific has received its first of 32 A321NEO (New Engine Option) aircraft that will support the carrier’s fleet renewal and expansion plans over the next five years.
Cebu Pacific is expecting delivery of at least five more A321NEO aircraft this year to support its expansion. The airline is also set to receive five Airbus A320NEO leased from international aircraft leasing company Avolon as well as an additional ATR 72-600 aircraft within 2019.
The latest delivery brings the total number of aircraft in the Cebu Pacific fleet to 72. On top of the new A321NEO, the Cebu Pacific fleet is comprised of 36 Airbus A320, seven Airbus A321CEO, eight Airbus A330, eight ATR 72-500, and 12 ATR 72-600 aircraft. The ATR aircraft is used by Cebu Pacific’s subsidiary Cebgo for domestic destinations where jet operations are not possible.

With a capacity of 236 seats, the A321NEO has 31% more capacity through the Airbus Cabin Flex (ACF) fuselage modification that allows for more seats without compromising on cabin comfort. The seats, ergonomically designed by manufacturer Recaro with more legroom between rows, are each equipped with a USB port toenable passengers to charge their mobile devices inflight.
Equipped with the latest technologies and industry reference cabin design, the Airbus A321NEO delivers 20% fuel cost savings, while also offering significant environmental benefits with nearly 50% reduction in noise footprint compared to previous-generation aircraft.
The Cebu Pacific A321NEO aircraft is powered by the Pratt & Whitney GTF engine, which has the ability to reduce fuel burn by 16%, cut NOx emissions by 50%,and lower the noise footprint by 75%.
