Philippine budget airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) will soon accept delivery of four brand-new aircraft—three A320s from this month until next and another one by December.

“We are very excited to accept delivery of more brand-new planes since these will be used to add flight frequencies and destinations for the benefit of the traveling public,” CEB vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog said.

This year, the airline is scheduled to add flights from Manila to Davao from 7 to 8 times daily as well as to Tacloban from 4 to 5 times daily. Flights to Boracay will also be increased from 13 to 14 times daily and to Dumaguete from 2 to 3 times daily as well as to Naga from 3 to 4 times daily while Cagayan de  Oro flights will be increased from 6 to 7 times daily, among others.

The airline will likewise launch a service to Tawi-Tawi starting October 14 to jump start its Zamboanga to Tawi-Tawi flights. On the same day, a Cagayan de Oro-Iloilo route will be inaugurated.

Earlier, it announced orders for 30 new Airbus A321neos and 7 A320s valued at $3.8 billion, the largest single aircraft order ever made by a Philippine carrier. The A321neos will be a first of its kind to operate in the Philippines, being a larger and longer-haul version of the Airbus A320.

The A320 and A321neo orders will be delivered between 2015 and 2021. These are on top of firm orders for 18 Airbus A320s for delivery from the second half of 2011 until 2014.

The airline is also scheduled to take delivery of 2 Airbus A320s on operating lease agreements in 2012.
