TL2 Shipping Agency, Inc was recently appointed as the exclusive sales and marketing arm of domestic shipping line Cebu Sea Charterers Inc (CSC).
CSC, which began operations in 2010 as a break bulk carrier, will soon launch a fully containerized domestic shipping service utilizing its own LCT vessels to call the ports of Bauan, Batangas; Subic Bay; Danao, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro.
CSC will initially maintain three dedicated weekly express services — BDC1, BDC2 and SCD.
BDC1 will call Bauan–Danao–Cagayan de Oro–Bauan with a full rotation of 7 days, sailing every Thursday out of Bauan.
Also on a 7-day rotation, BDC2 will service Bauan–Danao–Cagayan de Oro–Danao–Bauan, sailing every Monday. Operation in some ports will be shorter to allow a return loop to Danao after the Cagayan de Oro call before sailing back to Bauan.
The BDC1 and BDC2 services will start on the third week of May 2017.
SCD will serve the ports of Subic, Cagayan de and Danao with a target rotation of 7 days. SCD will commence in early June 2017.
All three services will be equipped with a roll on-roll off and container-capable LCT vessel, each with an approximate capacity of 150 TEUs.
CSC operates its own container yards in Manila, Bulacan, Batangas, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro. In total, the facilities are equipped with 15 modern reach stackers and more than 300 tractor heads. The company initially invested in about 2,500 units of brand-new 20’ GPs.
Container yards are also being prepared to accommodate domestic consolidation and local distribution.
The main services will be complemented by regular calling vessels and deployed tractor heads that will allow delivery to nearby ports such as Ormoc, Bacolod, Iloilo, Dumaguete, Roxas, Caticlan, Bohol and Tacloban. CSC is open to all domestic customers and foreign shipping lines that need to position empty containers to the said outports or connect their laden containers to international services.
To differentiate itself from competitors, CSC will specialize in full door-to-door service. The comprehensive, one-stop shop domestic service offers end-users efficient cargo delivery and significant time savings.
The combined CSC-TL2 infrastructure and workforce aim to cut, if not totally eliminate, customers’ concerns on empty container withdrawal, positioning, delivery to POL while at the same time meeting LCT and empty container returns to CSC depots.
Both CSC and TL2 will maintain a customer service team that promises to deliver excellent after-sales service. The team will be backed by an IT infrastructure aimed at enhancing real-time cargo tracking.
