FedEx Express (FedEx) has launched an Airbus A300 freighter into Malaysia that expands its cargo capacity between the country and global markets by 31 percent.
With a capacity of more than 40,000 kilograms, the A300 will operate six days a week from Monday to Saturday between Kuala Lumpur and Penang and the company’s Asia-Pacific hub in Guangzhou, China.
The deployment of the A300 freight service is in anticipation of Malaysia’s long-term economic growth, said Ramesh Kumar Singam, managing director of FedEx Express for Malaysia and Brunei.
Malaysia’s trade from 2012 to 2026 is projected to grow by 139.37 percent, according to the HSBC Global Connections Trade Forecast.
FedEx, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has been serving Malaysia since 1989, offering 37 flights per week in and out of the country to Asian and U.S. destinations.
