Famous Pacific Forwarding Philippines Inc. – a member of the FPS network of independent forwarders and NVOCCs – has launched two-way domestic ocean services to link Manila and Cebu to key ports throughout the islands.

The new services are operating weekly to Davao, Cagayan de Oro and the other main southern destination ports, catering both for FCL and LCL traffic. Any other port can be served on demand. By connecting with its wide spread of international groupage services, FPS is able to offer through-services between internal Philippine points and many major global ports.

In addition to container freight, Famous Pacific Forwarding is also offering ro-ro services, and plans to add conventional capacity at a later date.

“While there has been a downturn in overall volumes of international cargo in 2012, there has been an upward trend in the domestic sector. This has been caused by growing demand for transport of goods from Manila to various points of the Southern Philippines – supplying construction materials, feeding the growth in commercial outlets and providing distribution of finished products,” said Famous Pacific Forwarding Director Marina Rollan.

She continued: “These new domestic services have been added in response to strong demand from our existing clientele supporting us for international shipments. Very few international forwarders engage in domestic services, and this brings us a step closer to offering a total integrated logistics service.”
