Yantai Rising Dragon International Container Terminals Ltd (YRDICT) recently began servicing mega boxships when it serviced China Ocean Shipping Company’s (COSCO) 4,200-TEU vessel Shanhe. This is the biggest container vessel to dock at the Yantai Port. YRDICT handled a total of 628 TEUs, 600 TEUs of which are export containers, setting a record for the most export laden voyage for domestic trade routes in Yantai. In recent years, Yantai Port has been experiencing growth in domestic container trade volumes, prompting shipping lines like COSCO to replace old 1,900-TEU vessels with 4,200-TEU capacity ships. YRDICT is a subsidiary of Philippine-based International Container Terminal Services, Inc.
