Logistics and remittance company LBC Express, Inc. has opened a new warehouse in Lanang, Davao to augment its operations in Visayas and Mindanao.
The Davao Lanang warehouse, which houses various units of LBC including business solutions, systems, and warehousing, is strategically located 5.3 kilometers (km) from Davao International Airport and only 3.7 km or 10 to 20 minutes from the Davao-Sasa port.
The storage facility sits on a piece of land measuring 8,215 square meters (sqm) with a covered area of 4,570 sqm that features elevated loading bays of up to 12 doors. The warehouse will also soon be equipped with solar panels, making it environment-friendly and cost-efficient, in line with the group’s commitment to reduce its carbon footprint.
The opening of Lanang warehouse, which will serve the southern market, as well as the recent opening of LBC’s Kapayapaan Warehouse in Pampanga to serve the northern market, “solidifies LBC’s commitment to scale up its operations in the entire Philippines,” the company said in a statement.
LBC said that by building strategically located warehousing facilities, it is moving “as briskly as possible to become the leading complete supply chain solution for businesses in the Philippines.”
“LBC endeavors to always be a step ahead in making sure that all logistical concerns of businesses are fully met,” LBC vice president for corporate sales Jerome S. Santos said.
“It is only in investing and enhancing with appropriate tools and software can we continuously be the leader of the various segments of the chain. We are in the process of changing the rules of engagement in order for us to be ahead in the industry,” LBC vice president for corporate operations Dinna B. Tiongson said.
LBC is steadily expanding both its domestic and global reach. Overseas, it operates in more than 20 countries with a network of over 1,200 branches and a pool of 5,300 partner agents.
In the Philippines, it operates three main hubs for sea cargo, located in Manila, Clark, and Cagayan de Oro. It runs more than 70 delivery hubs, managing a team of 1,410 delivery associations and over 6,000 employees across the country.
LBC has also heavily invested in a three-year digital transformation program to further automate its processes and respond to changes in the logistics industry.
