Softlink Global, an international IT solutions provider for the freight forwarding industry, has linked up with Thailand-based Key Management Services to serve the large market of logistics service providers in Southeast Asia.

There are about 20,000 freight forwarders in the region to tap as potential customers, according to the company’s estimates.

Softlink Global will offer complete management solutions for the different functions of a logistics business, while Key Management Services will  be responsible for sales, implementation, and support in Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, Singapore-based supply chain company YCH has opened a new warehouse in Surabaya, Indonesia, to further extend the reach of the group’s supply chain network in the country.

The YCH Indonesia Surabaya DistriCentre occupies 120,000 square feet of space in the country’s second largest city and will offer integrated end-to-end supply chain flows.

Established in Indonesia since 2003, YCH has presence on five islands (Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and Bali) and in over 60 Indonesian cities. The  company said it will focus on developing its country and regional network to cater to a growing middle class.

“The Indonesian consumer class is set to expand exponentially and is expected that some 90 million will enter this group by 2030. This means an additional annual spending of $1 trillion. This also presents an increasingly logistical challenge for enterprises in Indonesia: meeting the demands of sophisticated consumers and delivering goods to them on time,” said Robert Yap, group chairman and CEO.
