MAERSK Line recently announced the appointment of Silvia Ding as its new Country Manager for the Philippines.

Ding, who assumes her role effective October 18, 2010, will be responsible for the development and execution of strategy, overseeing sales, operations and customer service.

She replaces Jesper Dalgaard Larsen, who has returned to Maersk Line’s headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Ding reports to Thomas Knudsen, the Regional Head of Maersk Line in Asia Pacific.

On her appointment, Ding said, “I am looking forward to heading up the Philippines organization and continuing the good work that’s already been done. One of the areas I will focus on is to further improve the way Maersk Line serves our customers, ensuring local shippers get quality transportation solutions, which they’ve come to expect from us.”
