Ferdinand Pecson has been appointed as the new executive director of the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines (PPP Center).

Pecson replaced Andre Palacios, who served the agency for three months following the resignation of former chief Cosette Canilao.

Pecson had been with FLSmidth, a supplier of equipment, services and expertise to the minerals and cement industries, for eight years until December 2015. Prior to this, he worked at building materials supplier Holcim for almost seven years and at equipment operations and financial services Deere & Co. for a year.

His work history also includes serving as corporate and operations strategy consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and as vice president of two other industrial companies. For six years, Pecson also served as consultant for Phinma Inc. and taught for 11 years as assistant professor at the University of the Philippines’ Department of Mechanical Engineering.

PPP Center is in charge of facilitating the implementation of the country’s PPP projects. It is an attached agency of the National Economic and Development Authority.
