BEGINNING this month, exporters are now paying the full wharfage fee.

Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) memorandum order 47-2009 dated August 11, 2009 which cut the wharfage fee by 50% lapsed on December 31, 2009.

PPA said it was withdrawing the discount because it could no longer sustain the loss in revenues, which came to about P100 million in the last two years.

The wharfage fee for a 20-foot container is back to P259.70 and for a 40-foot container, P952.22.
