SCMAP Supply Chain Perspective

SCMAP Supply Chain PerspectiveThe Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines, the country’s premiere supply chain organization, will hold a day-long conference, Supply Chain Perspective, in Davao City. The event is set for 15 November 2019, from 9am to 5pm, at the Apo View Hotel.

The event is in recognition of renewed interest and vigor across Mindanao, now the site of new developments from both the public and private sector. Davao, in particular, is now the site of new mixed-use developments and infrastructure projects, and is the starting point of the first ASEAN RORO route connecting the country to Indonesia, as well as the proposed Mindanao Railway Project. The event also serves as a take-off of SCMAP Mindanao, the chapter based in Davao launched in 2018.

Supply Chain Perspective gathers key stakeholders across the supply chain from Mindanao and beyond, providing delegates with a snapshot of the opportunities and challenges facing supply chain in the region. Among the topics to be discussed are the rise of e-commerce, the potential of halal logistics and developments in trade facilitation.

Leading the roster of speakers are Sec. Emmanuel Piñol, chair of the Mindanao Development Authority, and Gov. Edwin Jubahib of Davao del Norte, the agricultural center of the Davao region.

Also speaking at the event are:

  • Raymund Acedera, business unit head, on-shelf logistics, Logistikus Inc.
  • Maria Belenda Ambi, regional director, Region XI, Department of Trade and Industry
  • Marilou Ampuan, president, Universal Islamic Center
  • Atty. Erastus Sandino Austria, district collector, Port of Davao, Bureau of Customs
  • Petrus Carbonell, head of business development, Lazada Philippines

Registration to the event is at PHP 2,500 for SCMAP members and PHP 3,200 for non-members.
