United Parcel Service (UPS) has tripled the coverage area of its Worldwide Expedited air service for less time-based international shipments.

The service, which delivers within two to five business days, is now offered to more than 220 countries and territories.

The service is more economical and less time-sensitive but with many of the same benefits provided by the company’s Worldwide Express service, including door-to-door delivery, tracking visibility, and customs clearance, said John Sutthoff, vice president of international marketing, in an official statement.

The product targets retail and consumer goods, industrial manufacturing and high-tech industry customers, he added.

Atlanta-based UPS said the volatile economic conditions of the last few years should convince companies to look to the global marketplace for stability and growth.

“Companies that expand beyond their domestic borders are better insulated from economic downturns at home,” said Sutthoff.
