Changi Airport Singapore reported that airfreight movements decreased 1.8 percent year-on-year to 163,000 tonnes in March 2012.
The figure, however, is an increase from the 143,900 tonnes of cargo shipped in February this year.
Changi Airport handled 79,500 aircraft movements from January to March this year, up 12.9 percent year-on-year, but mostly due to strong international travel demand, a company statement said.
Despite a slight dip in cargo movements to and from Europe and South Asia, cargo movements at Changi remained relatively stable for the first quarter of the year, buoyed by an increase in movements to and from Southwest Pacific and Southeast Asia.
Some 443,900 tonnes of cargo passed through Changi from January to March, an increase of 0.6 percent.
