FedEx Express has expanded its two economical, time-definite delivery services for less-urgent shipments in Asia by offering more points of origin and more destinations.

FedEx International Economy (IE) has added Macau into its network, opened new lanes between Australia and New Zealand, and added new routes from Asia to Jordan, Ukraine, and major African markets.

New FedEx International Economy Freight (IEF) services now connect Australia and New Zealand, and China and Costa Rica.

“Asia Pacific remains a key driver of the global economy. The region’s export growth rate is expected to be 7.6 percent in 2011 and 8.5 percent in 2012,” said David Cunningham Jr., president of FedEx Express Asia Pacific.

Currently, FedEx offers IE and IEF services in 14 key markets in Asia-Pacific: Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam.
